Adding a free Image Gallery to your Concrete5 website

Warning! This tutorial is for deprecated Concrete5 versions 5.6 and below. Many of the examples and methods are no longer relevant to modern Concrete5.

Step 1. Collect your images

an image gallery is pretty dull without any images, so go ahead a collect all the pretty pictures you want to show your visitors. The higher the resolution, the better, preferably in .jpg format. These will need to be saved to your hard drive for the next step.

Step 2. Access your websites File Manager

Now that your photos are all in order, let login to your website as an administrator and access the file manager. When you make it into the file manager click towards the top right on the "Upload Multiple" button.

Step 3. Upload your images

On the resulting pop up window you should see a link that says "Add Files" on the right hand side. Click this link and select all the files for your new image gallery.

*tip: On a windows machine, you can select multiple files by holding the "Ctrl" button and clicking each file.

After you have selected your files click the "Start Uploads" button at the bottom of the form.

Step 4. Add your images to a new set

Depending on the amount and size of the images, it may take awhile to upload all your photos. When you are done, a new window will popup that allows you to set properties for your new files. At the top of the window you will see that there are two tabs. Click over to the "Sets" tab.

At the bottom of this window you will see an option for "Add to new set" . Tick the checkbox and give your image gallery a name, then select "Update"
